About Us

Nestled in the Himalayas and endowed with exceptional natural resources, Sikkim is a hotspot of biodiversity and development. Though land-locked, Sikkim is one of the most beautiful and strategically important State of the Indian Union. Bounded by foreign nations on three sides, it shares its boundary with the state of West Bengal. The Denzong Agricultural Co-operative Society Ltd. is a registered apex body of primary cooperative societies established in 1965 under Sikkim Cooperative Societies Act, 1955.

Since inception it has been rendering invaluable services to the people of Sikkim by way of bulk marketing of farm surplus collected from local villagers through member cooperative societies and catering ration requirement of Indian Army and Para-military forces stationed in climatically and geographically inhospitable locations. The armed forces are highly benefited from our uninterrupted and reliable services.

Our efforts have been counted as strength by them. The farmers are provided with market guarantee as well as gainful income and employment opportunities. It has 67 primary level farming societies as its members spread in all four districts divisions as on March 2013. The rapid growth in the memberships makes the Society a multi pronged broad based and people centric apex co-operative organization in Sikkim.

The Society is governed by Board of Directors headed by a sitting MLA as Chairman and five official and five elected Directors. The authorized share capital of the Society is Rs.20000000/- of which major stake belongs to State Government. Its business networks not only stretch over all corners of State including to the extent of 18000 ft. but also has its substantial presence in neigbouring State of West Bengal.

All these initiatives are aimed at serving the interest of local farmers as well shouldering huge challenge to fulfill ration requirement of Indian Army based at highest inhospitable posts.
