Achievements &  Activities

  1. Marketing of local fruits, vegetables and poultry chickens in substantial quantities; an increase of 514% within four years from 2009-10 to 2012-13.
  2. Achieving almost 60 to 70 % supplies to Army locally.
  3. Even during natural calamities such as earthquake in 2011and landslides in 2012, the Society continued with supplies as during normal times daring all odds. The Society’s perseverance and hard work enabled it to mobilize local produce in Lachen, Lachung, Yathang etc. to feed Jawans during those days.
  4. Distribution of Business Incentives @Rs.5000/- to all members.
  5. Declaration of dividends @4% in 2009-10, 7% in 2010-11 and 10% in 2011-12 & 2012-13.
  6. Coverage of all employees under the Group Gratuity Scheme and Insurance benefit under LIC.
  7. Up-gradation of Infrastructures for increasing efficiency and reducing operating costs.
  8. Acquisition of additional lands in Siliguri and building of Godown & Staff Quarters.
  9. Distribution of Price Support amounting to Rs. 4,03,110 during 2009-10, Rs. 30,50,714 during 2010-11 and `.31,51,380 during 2011-12; an increase of 682% within 3 years.
  10. Increase in Net Current Assets from Rs. 98 lacs in 2007-08 to Rs. 11.53 Crores in 2011-2012 an increase of 1076% within 6 years.
  11. Commendation & Appreciations of its services by Consumers, including the Army.
  12. Record growth of 168% within last five years.
  13. Awards & recognition to local farmers to honour the dignity of labour & hard work.

 

Marketing Farm Produce

The major thrust of the Society has been to increase local marketing for the benefit of the farmers. It has also aimed at achieving higher impetus in co-operative movement by encouraging greater participation of member societies in socio-economic activities. It has been making massive marketing of local produces like poultry broilers, fruits, vegetables etc. which has jumped to 447% within a short period of three years. We derive great satisfaction in feeding huge quantity of local organic mandarin oranges procured from farmers to Army.
