Aims &  Objectives

 

  1. To provide marketing facilities for agricultural produce and animal husbandry products of its members within and outside the State of Sikkim;
  2. To promote facilities for better farming, procurement of better price for agricultural produce and achieving better living conditions;
  3. To create funds or advance money to its members for short or intermediate periods at the minimum applicable to such lending;
  4. To construct, hire, own go downs, cold storage or sale depots to facilitate the storing of produce of members and sale thereof and to do the business of warehousing and the running of cold storage;
  5. To encourage generating self reliant economy among its members and promote employment generating schemes;
  6. To promote cottage industries in the form of small scale industry to achieve economic and social betterment of its members by inviting participation in the rural development work;
  7. To co-ordinate generally the activities between its members and various other societies by keeping them in touch with the marketing and production units;
  8. To act as agent of its member societies for all purposes;
  9. To provide transport to its members whenever necessary;
  10. To do such business or trade with non-members as may be conducive to the promotion of the socio-economic interest of its members under conditions as may be decided upon from time to time by the Board of Directors by resolution in writing provided that the Registrar does not direct otherwise;
  11. To open branch offices, sale depots, agencies in any part of the State and to frame rules for their guidance and supervision subject to the previous sanction of the Registrar, Co-operative Societies;
  12. To pool the produce of the members as well as of the non-members on such terms as may be settled between the parties;
  13. To establish and run manufacturing and processing units for the production of consumer goods in collaboration with other Co-operative or directly or by itself;
  14. To supervise the working of affiliated societies and to render technical guidance and assistance to improve management techniques and improve their operational and management efficiency;
  15. To promote and encourage spirit and practice of thrift, self help and cooperation among the members and generally to do such other things as are incidental or conducive to the promotion of the socio-economic interest of members and incidental to the attainment of any of all these objects;
  16. To purchase agricultural implements, seeds, livestock or other articles intended for agriculture and for the purpose of supplying them to its members;
  17. To collect, store, sell the agricultural products of the members and providing sorting out, packing and transportation facilities of the agricultural products of the affiliated societies;
  18. To provide and manage a small unit of transport wing consisting of light carriers, trucks etc. for the purpose of transportation of produce or articles manufactured or produced by the member societies or affiliated societies;
  19. To utilize the services, assistance and obtain advice of various departments of the State Government and of various local bodies for furtherance of the objects of the Co-operative;
  20. To enter into negotiated contract with the Defence organizations, such as Army, Navy, Air Force and para-military forces for supply of perishable or non perishable items/rations or any other items dealt with by the Society;*
  21. To open branch offices, sales depots, purchase points outside the State and to enter into agreement with any agencies for the purpose of attaining its objectives, subject to prior approval of the Registrar Cooperative Societies;*
